“There’s a shade of RED for every woman” – Audrey Hepburn.

I associate the color red with passion, love , sexuality, creativity and joy. I’ve had the opportunity to chat with a few women and these are the few questions that have come up;

  • Do you think red is too bright?
  • Do you think red draws too much attention?
  • Does red bring back bad memories?

For a few, we went deeper to understand the reasons behind ‘why’ the fear of red could be something deeper.

One made a few changes, wearing red lipstick, which scared her to death, because her father commented negatively about her red lips.

My reason for not liking red, was because I didn’t want to draw attention to myself, until I wore red to a friend’s wedding. The compliments were too many.

You can gradually introduce red;

  • Start small, a red lipstick can do wonders.
  • Add a red accessory, a scarf, hat, shoes or a red handbag.
  • A red T-shirt or a red blouse.
  • Wear a red dress, make it a hot-statement moment.

I would suggest trying a little bit of red once, now and again and see how you feel. Have your color analysis done, as that would help.

As I got older, my skin tone works quite well with bright colors. Go on, add to the list and tell us which you’re going to run with.
